Dave Wilkins' first encounter with fantasy art was Frazetta's Death Dealer; after that, he began to steadily read Marvel comic series and watch related movies which only further piqued his interests. A self-taught artist, Wilkins did not get his first professional work until his late 20's, when his work was discovered serendipitously while working at Kinkos.
