How a release works

Most galleries sell an edition the way a shop sells a jacket: the first person to pay gets it. That works for a jacket. It does not work for forty prints and four hundred people who want one, where the winner is whoever has the fastest connection.

A release on Robinhood Gallery is offered by application. The edition is announced with its price, its size and the number available. The window is open for a few days. During it you apply: your name, your email, and the work you want. Nothing is charged.

When the window closes, the works are allocated. Where there are more applicants than works, we draw, and members are drawn first. Everyone hears the same day. If you are allocated, an invoice and a payment link arrive by email, and you have 48 hours to pay. If a work goes unpaid, it rolls to the next name on the list.

Members are collectors who have bought from us in the last twelve months. They see each release a day before everyone else and are drawn first. There is nothing to join and nothing to pay; a purchase is what makes you a member.

Three things we hold to:

  • One work per person per release, so an edition reaches as many collectors as it can.
  • The price you see is the price. No premium, no fee for applying.
  • A work you are allocated ships from Las Vegas within two business days of payment, insured, with its letter of authenticity.

The releases page lists what is open now. When nothing is, it lists what is coming.
